Knowing we were leaving at 4:30am the next morning to start the Inca Trail, we wanted an easy day with minimal stress. We walked towards the town center  and were pulled into a shop. The next thing we knew the store owner had dressed us up in traditional garments and was taking pictures for us. It was really funny and an ingenious way to get us into his shop to spend money. (Which of course we did!)

There were a large number of female police officers. Ed appreciated the feeling of safety they provided for him!

Later that afternoon we headed to the Chocolate Museum and learned how to make chocolate from Coco Beans. It was a 2 hour cooking class and a lot of fun. We all had a part in the process and the instructor was very witty and made the class  In the end we made our own chocolate bars and got to bring them home to share with our families.

We ended the day with a meeting with Sam Travel to have our Intro Meeting to discuss the particulars of the hike: what to bring, what to expect when to be ready ect. Saul is the owner and has been really informative and responsive during the planning stages of this trip!

It’s hard to believe the time has finally come. This has been in the works for years and it all comes to fruition in the morning.
