I started this travel blog 5 years ago to appease my mom so she could keep up with all of our adventures when we were traveling. Caitlyn and I were headed on a 6 week road trip and since she was 9 at the time, I figured “Traveling with my tween” was a great domain name that would last at least 4 more years. I never anticipated that I would still be blogging past her tween years but alas here we are.

Coming up with a new domain name was much harder then I expected. I wanted something that was travel related but I also wanted to pay homage to our painted rocks. We came up with several different options but ultimately landed on RoamingRocks. The definition of the word roam is:

verb

  1. move about or travel aimlessly or unsystematically, especially over a wide area. “Tigers once roamed over most of Asia”

We rarely have an itinerary. When we travel, we often stumble onto many beautiful landmarks and experiences by asking locals what they recommend or by wandering through the streets. Since we leave our rocks in random places as well, it just felt fitting.

That said, we wanted to announce that Travelingwithmytween has been rebranded to Roaming Rocks. We hope you enjoy our adventures while we roam and write about it.
